Keeping Alive the Dream of Barbara A. Thurmond of Augusta, Georgia: Barbara Thurmond and her sister Earnestine Covington dreamed of a world without violence – so they founded Blacks Against Black Crimes, Inc. in June 1991 to help reduce black-on-black violence along the banks of the Savannah River.
